Lady Eleanor is a spoiled girl who ends up married to her older brother’s best friend in an effort to save her honor. Her husband, Lord Edwyn, has been slightly obsessed with her since the day he watched her being spanked by her father; he’s had a lot of thoughts about those rosy cheeks over the years, and is glad for the opportunity to try it out in person. She’s defiant and petty, trying to convince him life is easier without her; he enjoys the extra reason to discipline her, and trying to convince her that if she would just behave properly, they could be very happy together.
I’m not the biggest fan of historicals typically, and maybe that was the problem. I was looking for a brat book, something with discipline and sternness in addition to sex and romance, and this does qualify, but it didn’t really do it for me. The spicy scenes were fine, but I just never really got into the book. I’m gonna blame the ending; I wanted more of a Happily Ever After, but it looks like the author was aiming more for sequel bait.
The Steamy Stuff – Spoilers!
The sex is prevalent, definitely. The first spanking scene is literally the first scene in the book, and the married couple start going at it by the 20% mark. Lots of spanking (obviously).
